A healthy competitive spirit helps a person grow. The word “competition” can have some negative connotations, but believe it or not, competition has many benefits. As long as you bring a healthy attitude to what you are competing, it can help you grow and be your absolute best. This also applies to the world of competitive dance. Dance competitions have the potential to bring out the best in any dancer.
Jhankaar Club of Bosco Technical Training Society (BTTS) in collaboration with Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI) organized an online (Microsoft Teams) dance competition on 5th June 2021. The participants were enthusiastic indeed to submit their pre-recorded dance performance on time when the organizers gave all the necessary instructions including all the rules and regulations. During this pandemic, the students were delighted to take part in the competition with full zeal and fervor. It gave an opportunity to show their talent from the comfort of their homes as we tried to cope with the new realities of social distancing. In spite of the restricted resources, eighteen students prepared beautifully their dance videos and submitted.
Dr. Vikas Rao Vadi (Director, BTTS) and Br Tom C J (Principal, DBTI) were present on the occasion and jointly inaugurated the event. Br Tom C J appreciated the efforts of Mrs. Deepika Kirti the chief organizer and her team for the wonderful effort to make it a reality. He also wished the participants all the very best. Ms. Bhuumika Dixit (1st year BCA) was anchoring the event with her spontaneous comments and appreciation for each of the dancers. The judges were Fr Abhay (Asst Principal, DBTI) Dr. Ruchi Sawhney (Asst. Professor, BTTS) and Ms. Rinki (Teacher, DBTI). They judged the performances on the basis of choreography, theme, music, expression and presentation. They had a tough time to arrive at the deserving winners. We appreciate and thank the judges for making the right choice of the best dancers as per the list given below.
